NCSU vs. ECU: Not A ECTC Win For The Pack

NCSU travels to Greenville NC to take on ECU this Saturday. This game is expected to be an offensive Donnybrook that could possibly be one of the highest scoring games of this season. Nationally both of these teams scoring offense are ranked 12th and 13th. ECU is listed at 12th with 25 TDs with 188 points and NCSU is 13th with 225 points in six games.

More than likely the difference in this game will come the defenses. ECU performance on defense has been just pitiful this year. They have given up over 450 yards per game with an average of 6.3 yards per play, where as State’s defense has put up much better numbers but they are still within reach of ECU’s attack. If ECU’s defense shows up on Saturday, this game go turn out to be much tougher than State fans are expecting.

Considering the history between these two programs it should be an exciting battle. Expect ECU fans to be pumped to provide a hostile environment for the Pack to play in. If they could pull an upset here it could make their season. But when you look at what the weapons the Wolfpack brings to this contest you can understand why State fans are predicting a blow out. In the last couple of weeks alone Russell Wilson has used a gaggle of Wolfpack receivers to provide their opponents with major struggles defensively.

Just a note about this game, former Tx Tech head coach Mike Leach will be in the booth calling this game for television. Look for some quirky comments and insider information on ECUs head coach Ruffin McNeill.

Prediction

NCSU proves too powerful on offense and defense, so ECU will fade in the 2nd half of the game. Russell Wilson and State’s defense shine as the stars of the game.

Final Score

NCSU 48

ECU   32
